Yess I feel like #1 isn’t talked about enough! Me questioning my grandmothers superstitions around death, funerals etc. opened the door to learning so much more.

You realize how much you’ve been exposed to it when you become aware. It’s a trip because it’s everywhere!

My first mistake was buying all the things and looking for recipes and spells. When I got around real practitioners, I started honoring my culture and my ancestors.

Looking forward to more writing! I find that you are a refreshing authentic voice is the midst of marketeers and social media influencers.

Great first article and you have a new subscriber. The importance of patience is normally forgotten but it takes time to build a relationship with our ancestors.

Tell me why when I first started my journey I got bamboozled out of $45 for Florida water at a Black Flea Market. I thought she said 15! And then I looked at my cashapp like no she didnt!

I’m having such an on and off practice with hoodoo. I did connect with ancestors and felt presence but I also practice other forms of magick. Is this ok? Is it frowned upon? I attempted to commune with an orisha but upon further research discovered this is a closed practice. I’m not familiar with the saints and besides my ancestors which I do understand can be the most powerful connection I have no clue what my practice should look like. I’m guessing it’s a personal experience and a journey. I only know some basics in this field but I want to know more. I want to feel more. any tips?

My first mistake is not trusting my intuition and what my peoples( the ancestors) are trying to tell me. Now a days I just do what I feel pulled to do and ask questions later, hasn't failed me yet.

I also think that sometimes it's easy to get some wrapped up in what is isn't hoodoo. When at the end of the day while hoodoo may share somethings, it's all based in your lineage. So if ya people are telling ya to grab this, but the book says sum else..listen to your people.
